finding paragraph 1

Does the environment we have now affect endangered species? Yes the environment we have now effects endangered species. It effects them by destroying their habitat. In the very first paraphrase it stated that due to global warming the arctic region is melting which is destroying the polar bears habitat. The more gas we produce the less ozone layer we have left. Which equal the less protection from the sun  and that means the ice melting from the habitat.

This graph shows the type of condition each specie is in. For example Africa has the most endanger mammals and they are in the line with being very critical

An endangered sea turtle species, the loggerhead, had a record-breaking nesting season this year on Georgia beaches, says a wildlife biologist with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. A total of 1,761 loggerhead nests were reported from May through October. This surpassed the previous record, set in 2008, by more than 100 nests. It is a hopeful sign for the endangered species, said Mark Dodd, senior wildlife biologist for the state Department of Natural Resources. "We're seeing the beginning of something we're very hopeful turns into a recovery," Dodd said. "If we have another one or two years of average or above average nesting, it would be possible to show statistically that the population is increasing.
In the state of Georgia there was shocking count of nests made by loggerhead Sea Turtles. These sea turtles are listed as endangered but with the continuing mating seasons for these turles would be a recovery. Volunteers for the Turtle Cooperative have monitored turtle nesting for 22 years. The turtles are 100 nests above the limit set for them in 2008. The turtles nesting raised to 68% from previous years.

In the battle of human versus wolf, the human always comes out as top dog. Human activity, hunting, and trapping put gray wolves on the U.S. endangered species list. Wildlife advocates say that could happen again unless the species remains protected. The gray wolf population still isn't large enough, wildlife advocates argue, to recover from harsh winters or disease if humans threaten it too. "Simply restoring a certain 'magic number' of wolves to a region may not be enough," the Humane Society of the United States says.  There are plenty of nonlethal ways to control the wolf population and protect livestock. Wildlife advocates prefer relocation, neutering and spaying, and fences to state plans that include commercial wolf hunting and poisoning pups.

This article is about how humans go about dealing with the gray wolves population. The grey wolf  are endangered because they are being hunted. The Wildlife advocates says this can happen agaon if the wolves get put into protection.

This is an elphant from India that was poached. Elphants are becoming extinct due to man kind wanting their tusks. This relates to my topic because elphants are inlisted in the endanger species list due to poaching and hunting.

The picture above is a picture of two dead Hector's and Maui's Dolphin. The dolphins died during the fishing season. Maui's Dolphins are endanger because they get tangled in the fishing nets like the ones shown above. If the dolphins continue to get tangled up into fishing nets; they would become extinct by the year 2050. This relates to my topic because if it were not for man fishing for food these dolphins would still be swimming.

The frigid Arctic region has been heating up in recent years. Scientists point to global warming--a gradual increase in Earth's average temperature. The Arctic is virtually covered in ice year-round, but Arctic sea ice is beginning to disappear during the summer months. This melting is endangering animals that rely on sea ice, such as the Pacific walrus. Disappearing ice results in walruses gathering in large numbers on land. This puts the walruses at greater risk of attack by predators. Walruses cannot escape them very easily on land. Walruses also cannot hunt with ease for the seafood they eat.Gathering in large numbers on land also puts calves, or young walruses, in danger. For example, U.S. Geological Survey researchers recently reported that a herd of 3,500 walruses was onshore on the northern coast of Alaska. More than 130 calves were killed when the herd became frightened and stampeded into the water. "The deaths of these walruses is another wake-up call that we will lose the Arctic if we continue on our current course," says Shaye Wolf, a biologist with the Center for Biological Diversity.

Due to global warming the arctic region has been starting to melt. The arctic is basically covered in ice. Even though ice is cold the arctic sea is slowly starting to disappear. This would cause majors problems for animals that rely on the sea ice like polar bears and walruses. This bad for the walruses because they can easily get attacked by predators. It was reported that 130 young walruses were killed in stampede of 3.500 walruses who was trying to get in the sea.

What I know about my topic

Endanger Species are not just animals they are also plant that are becoming extinct also. These species are becoming extinct due to their habitat being destroyed by man kind. I also know that some of these species are mostly wild animals. With them being wild animals they are being captured to be use for medicine and expensive fur clothing.  Also some of these species life is slipping away due to pollution and the Green House Effect. Take polar bears for instant the ice region they live on is slowly melting away because of the Green House Effect. There are myriads of organizations that are trying to save to some of these animals. Some of the wild animals are being captured and posted at zoos for our personal entertainment.

The Story Behind My Topic Choice

I chose the topic endangered species because one of my favorite animals is endanger of becoming extinct. My favorite animal is the giant panda. Giant pandas are becoming extinct becuase of habitat lost in China; due to their over growing population. Giant pandas always have been one of my favorites and I do not want them to become non existing.
